My MIL called John last night to ask about the horrible weather we are having here in Kirkwood.  Apparently she was watching the news down there in Florida and The Weather Channel, reporting on Midwest weather, showed a car sliding around on a highway and the caption noted that it was in Kirkwood, Missouri.

Now, I don’t think Kirkwood has ever been featured on The Weather Channel before – or if one of its  highways was, most likely the caption would have said “St. Louis, Missouri”.  But things have changed for my hometown, and The Weather Channel wants to be au currant.

First Sgt. McEntee is shot in Kirkwood,
Then Michael Devlin is found in Kirkwood,
Then Cookie Thornton goes on a shooting rampage in Kirkwood,

And Now!  Now we have icy weather in Kirkwood.

When will it all end?

The Weather Channel aside, I read over that list and want to cry.  Nothing on that list should ever have happened in Kirkwood, let alone have happened over a 2 1/2 year time span.

Except the ice, natch.
